Il mio viaggio templare
Vivo nello stato dell'Idaho e il mio viaggio è iniziato intorno al 2015 quando il mio interesse per i Cavalieri Templari è cresciuto mentre mi godo la storia e molto di quel periodo. Ho raccolto vari oggetti di quel periodo (armatura, scudi, spade e vestiti). Sentivo crescere dentro di me anche il bisogno di servire e volevo trovare un Ordine.
Dopo aver guardato intorno, mi sono imbattuto in un'organizzazione internazionale e mi sono unito a loro nel 2016 e sono diventato un Sir Knight e ho servito in quell'Ordine dal 2016 al 2018. Ma quell'Ordine non soddisfaceva il bisogno di amicizia o fratellanza e non stava facendo molto negli Stati Uniti. Così ho iniziato a cercare un altro Ordine, che mi ha portato a OSMTJ-USA, che sta per "Ordre Souverain et Militaire du Temple de Jérusalem" in francese.
Questo Ordine ha offerto molto in ciò che stavo cercando, quindi mi sono unito a dicembre 2018 e ho portato molti altri membri con me, creando così una nuova casa con OSMTJ-USA.
Sono stato nominato cavaliere al grado di Cavaliere Comandante il 29 giugno 2019, al Conclave annuale di Canaan, CT, e il 28 luglio 2019 è stato formato il Re David Priory. Gli stati di Idaho, Nevada e Arizona comprendono il King David Priory. Molto lavoro è stato svolto nella creazione del nuovo Priorato e in quel momento sono stato promosso a Master Commander. Dopo aver soddisfatto i requisiti per guidare un Priorato per un anno, sono stato promosso al nuovo grado di Priore il 1 luglio 2020.
Parte di me che serve l'Ordine è stata nel reclutare e promuovere l'Ordine sui social media. È stata una benedizione vedere membri che ho aiutato a unirsi all'Ordine da tutta la nazione e crescere all'interno dell'ordine. È stata anche una grande gioia fare una sensibilizzazione pubblica in una fiera locale a settembre 2019 con mia moglie e il membro Lady Renee Nordio. È stato un onore per noi entrambi servire insieme nell'Ordine. Nel 2022 l'Ordine è diventato GPMTJ (Gran Priorato dei Militari del Tempio di Gerusalemme), sono entrato a far parte del team grafico e video dell'Ordine. Il 26 marzo 2022 sono stato nominato Direttore Nazionale del Video.
Durante il mio tempo con GPMTJ, ho incontrato molti membri meravigliosi da tutta la nazione, servendo nostro Signore e l'Ordine, uniti nella fratellanza.
Il 25 giugno 2022, il mio viaggio templare è cambiato e ha spostato il mio Priorato all'OMSDT (Ordre militaire suprême des Templiers) e ha assunto il ruolo di diventare il loro Gran Siniscalco. Ho servito come Gran Siniscalco dal 25 giugno al 20 settembre 2022, quando ho avuto l'onore di diventare Gran Priore dell'Ordine il 20 settembre 2022.
Sono onorato ed è un onore servire come Gran Priore. Farò del mio meglio per servire questo Ordine e Dio. Abbraccio lo spirito dei Templari e onorerò anche la storia dei Templari.
Credo che questo Ordine sia più allineato alla mia visione e ai miei obiettivi per servire meglio Dio e onorare la nostra storia templare. Sono entusiasta di far parte della crescita di questo Ordine, poiché serviamo il Signore nello spirito dei Templari. Ti do il benvenuto a unirti all'Ordine per iniziare il tuo viaggio templare e condividere il percorso con noi in OMSDT.

On July 114th 2024 Grand Master Rick Trujillo presented Grand Prior Derek Nordio with the OMSDT Silver Star award.
On November 14th 2024 Grand Master Rick Trujillo presented Grand Prior Derek Nordio with the OMSDT Merit Award at Loretto Chapel, during our National Conclave held in Sant Fa, NM

In July 2019, the initial days of officially forming the Priory began with a phone conversation between the man who served as Grand Prior at the time, and Derek Nordio, who had the rank of Knight Commander at that time, to discuss the formation of the new Priory. The Grand Prior asked Knight Commander who, aside from Jesus, was his favorite person in the Bible.
Knight Commander Derek responded with the name King David. The Grand Prior then asked him why. Knight Commander Derek explained that he thought many people, both men and women, could relate to David, since believers are all a little like David, in that David sinned against God, while even having a true love for God in his heart.This was obviously an answer that was met with pleasure from the Grand Prior because as soon as Knight Commander Derek finished speaking about King David, the Grand Prior suggested that King David would be a fine name for the new Priory
From the Grand Prior's questioning, Knight Commander Derek had no idea that he was actually helping him to create a name for the Priory. The Grand Prior asked him if he would actually like that name for a Priory and he happily agreed.
After finalizing more details for the formation of the new Priory, the next day, the Grand Prior promoted Knight Commander Derek to the rank of Master Commander, to lead the newly formed King David Priory. Master Commander Derek, after meeting the requirement of leading a Priory as a Master Commander for one year, was promoted to the new rank of Prior July 1, 2020.
In June 2022, after establishing the Priory with OMSDT, Grand Master Trujillo asked Prior Derek if he would accept the office of Grand Seneschal of the Order, which he did. And, in September 2022, Prior Derek was honored to accept the position of Grand Prior of the OMSDT Order.
In June 2024, Grand Prior Derek's wife, Renee' Nordio, was appointed as the Prior for the King David Priory. She has years of leadership experience and being in Templar Orders. Before being appointed Prior, she previously served as the Priory's Marshal, handling all the personnel and paperwork for the Priory. From May 2023 through May 2024 she served as Master Commander leading the OMSDT Priory of St. Michael the Archangel and since July 2022 serves as Grand Secretary for OMSDT Knights Templar.
